Wellness Care

Your pet’s well-being is a goal we share with you, which is why all of our locations offer complete wellness care, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to help quickly diagnose, treat, and monitor a wide range of medical conditions.

Small animals have much shorter life spans than humans. Sometimes a seemingly healthy pet can be in pain from any number of problems. Annual wellness care visits help with early detection of health problems that, if caught early, can help your pet recover faster, avoid unnecessary pain, and usually save you money on treatment.

What's involved in an annual wellness exam?

At your pet's annual wellness exam, the veterinarian will carefully examine your pet, paying careful attention to:

- Temperature

- Skin and coat

- Heart, lungs, and abdomen

- Teeth and gums

- Eyes and ears

- Paws and nails

- Body weight

Additionally, to help ensure long-term wellness, the veterinarian will also discuss:

- Vaccines (which vaccines are best for your pet)

- Diet/nutrition

- Parasite control (which products are used and/or recommended for your pet)

- Exercise

- Behavior

What if a health problem is detected?

If a health problem is detected, the veterinarian may hold off on vaccinating your pet until the problem is resolved. Depending on the health concern, the veterinarian will require blood work, EKG/echocardiogram or radiographs for diagnostic purposes.

Annual wellness exams provides the opportunity to collaborate with your veterinarian, enabling you to make well-informed decisions about your pet's health care!
